About Us

Talent gets you in the door. No one hands you the playbook for what comes next.

Her Workplace is the private membership network where ambitious corporate women get to the next level, together.

Our story

Talent was never the thing holding women back. Access was.

We founded Her Workplace because ambitious corporate women kept telling us the support they needed most was the advice nobody would say out loud. What a promotion really requires. What a fair offer looks like. Who to have in your corner before you need them.

So we built it deliberately — a private network, rooms small enough to be candid in, and access to senior leaders who show up to answer the questions that actually move a career forward.

Today, our members and leaders are women across a variety of corporate industries such as finance, tech, law, and professional services, all trading the same hard-won knowledge instead of guarding it. "Everything I've built, I built with mentors, sponsors, and leaders in my corner. I want that for every woman here."  — Marilynn Joyner, Founder of Her Workplace

Careers move faster in good company.

What we stand for

Five things we refuse to compromise on.

01

Come as you are

No performing, no dress code, no proving you belong. Here, you can drop the armor and show up exactly as you are.

02

Rooms, not resumes

Progress comes from proximity. We build the rooms where introductions, mentorship, sponsorship, and opportunity actually happen.

03

Unfiltered honesty

Real numbers, real stories, real wins, and real setbacks. Our members and leaders talk about what usually stays unsaid.

04

Peer  &  senior

Women at your level who get it, and senior leaders who have already navigated it.

05

Private by design

Vetted membership and closed-door conversations, so candour is safe.

Meet Our Founder

Marilynn Joyner

“I spent 15+ years in rooms where I was often the only woman who looked like me. Her Workplace is the room I wanted to walk into.”

Marilynn built her career in commercial real estate brokerage, spending more than a decade at JLL and CBRE advising fast-growing companies — Convene, Vivvi, Bitly — on how and where they grew. She went on to lead real estate and operations at Series A start-up Stuf, and served as a national board member for CBRE's Women's Network.

Along the way she noticed a pattern — the women around her were exceptional at their jobs and still getting passed over. The missing piece was never talent. It was access — to the rooms, the mentors and sponsors, and the unwritten rules nobody hands you.

She started Her Workplace in October 2023 with a single event in New York City. Since then she has hosted more than 3,000 gatherings, grown a network of roughly 80,000 professional women and built a private membership of women moving corporate careers forward, together.

Marilynn is also Founder & CEO of Fund Her Network and Canvas, an investor and advisor to early-stage founders, and sits on the Women's Circle Board of Directors at Columbia Business School. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School, and a Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown.
